Powerfullyfeminine, sculptural, colorful with unusual combinations; this is Roksanda\u00a0Ilin\u010di\u0107’s fashion, a Serbian-born designer trained at Central Saint Martins.\u00a0The style of the brand that bears her name, Roksanda<\/b><\/a>,has now been transposed into a new interior design project inside London’s\u00a0gasometers in King’s Cross. The designer created the interior of this\u00a0three-story luxury residence in the cast-iron skeleton of this three-story\u00a019th-century industrial building.<\/p>\n

In one of the\u00a0nine penthouses, Roksanda implemented a feminine mise-en-sc\u00e8ne, in contrast to\u00a0the rigorous context of industrial aesthetics. This is her first curatorial\u00a0experience as an interior designer and is set up down to the smallest detail, from furniture to books.\u00a0 For the interiors, Roksanda invited Nick Vinson, creative director of Vinson & Co,<\/b><\/a> with whom she wanted to\u00a0share her vision of the space. With her contribution, the designer has softly\u00a0reinterpreted the 1970s style, with Postmodern and Mid-Century forays, focusing\u00a0on creative women, both established and emerging. Lamps, vases, and ceramics\u00a0include pieces by Eny Lee Parker, Alana Wilson, Christine Roland, and Annette\u00a0Lantsoght. With murals, artwork, and textiles by Parisian artist Caroline\u00a0Denervaud as a backdrop for Lina Bo Bardi and Charlotte Perriand’s<\/b><\/a>\u00a0furniture. Completing the design, a dining table by Angelo Mangiarotti, the bed\u00a0by Tobia Scarpa, the seats of the ’50s by Pierre Jeanneret and others of more\u00a0recent times by Mario Botta and Philippe Starck.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The use of bold colour and eclecticism in this space evokes the “glamour” of the 1970s.<\/p>\n
