What are the best natural oils for a healthy skin?

Natural oils should not be confused with essential oils, which are obtained by steam distillation of aromatic plants and are highly concentrated substances that cannot be applied directly to the skin. Precisely, vegetable oils, due to their ability to penetrate, serve to dilute essential oils and thus be able to apply them directly to the dermis.

Natural oils are extracted from the plants’ fatty parts, either from the fruit (olive, coconut, argan…) or from the seed (sunflower, soya, flax…). They are formed by natural fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and trace elements, which help preserve the hydrolipidic layer of our skin, prevent water loss, and maintain its natural state of hydration. They also contain vitamins A and E and other components that justify their use in cosmetics.

Argan oil is extracted from the fruit of the “tree of life” (Argania Spinosa), which grows on Morocco’s southwest coast. The fruits are harvested from the ground and dried in the sun. Women’s cooperatives carry out the oil extraction process following a laborious artisan process.
