Patio House is located on a plot next to a cliff with panoramic views of the sea and the nearby Afiarti beach. Designed by OOAK architects, it is a grey volume of reinforced concrete with a texture of board and gravel roof in cantilever from the upper cornice to enhance the views and create the illusion that it extends towards the sea.
The building adapts its design on two fundamental levels: a higher level, on which domestic life is concentrated, and a lower level for enjoying life outdoors protected from the wind, under a large pergola.
The bright interior combines references to traditional Karpathos architecture with Scandinavian furniture. The windows are designed to frame the views, as are the massive concrete openings in the outdoor dining room on the upper floor. Joy for the senses.
