Casa Cook | Natural Charm

OKU Kos – formerly Casa Cook Kos – is located in the northwest of theGreek island of Crete. The boutique hotel was designed by Lambs and Lions studio, responsible for the project concept, as well as the Greek architectural studio K-studio and interior designer Annabell Kutucu. The result is a succession of concrete constructions clad in wood that look out over the sea; different low-lying villas are arranged down the slope until they end up on the beach, creating the illusion of being in a small coastal town.

In the interiors of Casa Cook, the use of natural materials prevails — wood mainly in dark tones, combined with linen and rattan finishes. The modern design furniture lightens the weight of the dark timber. It also contributes to generating this luminosity in the spaces, the big openings that allow the entrance of natural light. These are masterfully complemented by skylights and small cuts in the stone facade.

The purity of lines and the brutalist tendency that determines the concrete and stone dominant in the project is counterbalanced by the exuberant vegetation, creating a sophisticated style of natural charm
