We meet Colin at the Marlton Hotel in NY. It’s a particularly grey day, and the lit fireplace is a pleasant surprise. Delicate in his appearance, but with an inner strength that surprises, Colin looks you straight in the eye when he talks with his bright blue eyes that radiate an overwhelming warmth.

Colin King grew up on a farm in Ohio, and he knew since he was a kid that he didn’t want to stay there. He loved to dance, and that passion took an 18-year fearless kid to NY to follow his dream. Although dancing was an essential way of communicating for Colin, once college was over, and he started to audition, it lost the unique qualities he loved about it. He changed NY for LA, fearless again, and changed dancing for training.  Tracy Anderson, no more, and no less. Although it was a great experience, Colin missed more creativity in his life.

“…design and dance share many aspects such as the way they both communicate without speaking; both are all about space, proportion, lines, composition, rhythm …”

After working as a real estate agent, and as a content manager for a small design shop, Colin King moved back to NY; knowing what he wanted and assuming that none of us are just one thing. Trainer -again-, stylist, social media strategist, florist…, you name it! All these new opportunities led him to focus on styling and photography, to which he now devotes most of his time, always remaining curious about new paths and opportunities  that may arise.

You can find Colin’s work in major magazines, including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, T Magazine, Elle Decor, Vogue, Milk Decoration, Domino, Living, etc.,. And of course, in his beautiful website and Instagram account  @colinking.
