architectural visualization

Architecture visualization taken to a whole new level

The romanticized imagery of a night in the desert comes true in this new luxury hotel located in an unknown location in the Sonora Desert. Two large longitudinal blocks of concrete rest on the sand, with the coarseness of a rough landscape, and with the beauty of wildness. The glazed facades provide uninterrupted views of the astonishing landscape to enjoy the starry nights and quiet days of the steppe moor.

But the most striking feature of this project is not only its monumental architecture or its unusual location. The images in this post are not photographs, but hyper-realistic renderings made by the specialized in architectural visualization UK studio The Boundary.

I believe that this type of project opens up a fascinating debate. Is it legitimate to use renders in the projects section? If it hasn’t been built, it is still a project of we should consider it work in progress, or idea or concept. We have all seen websites and Instagram accounts made from unreal images, from projects that may never be developed. I think this does not detract any value from the creative ability of the architect or interior designer.

Quite the contrary, it is a handy tool to show to our clients and show prospects what to expect from our studio. We’ve used them countless times. From the hyper-realistic renderings to those of a more artistic character seeking to evoke a feeling, a sensation. But The Boundary takes architectural visualization to a whole other level.
