Nani Marquina | In10
In a time when design in Spain was almost non-existent and merely industrial, Nani Marquina started designing contemporary rugs, at night, in the backroom of her father’s architecture studio. A tenacious and courageous woman in a world dominated by men. During the economic crisis of 93, Nani discovered in India that the return to the origin was the key to innovation. Almost thirty years later, there are more than 600 selling points around the world, a showroom in New York, and the MOMA have her designs.
“A rug for each space and emotion”
Always innovative, Nani Marquina collaborates with the best designers like the Bouroullec brothers, Ron Arad, Christian Zuzunaga, Doshi-Levien, or Nao Tamura. And, more recently, Jaime Hayon. Nani Marquina’s studio recovers the tradition and applies the best design to the rugs, turning them into a contemporary piece. This combination of craftsmanship and modernity has made her company the undisputed leader of the sector.
Nani Marquina is part of the Care & Fair initiative. The initiative aims to improve the living standards and education of boys and girls in producing countries.
