Vincent Van Duysen | Pure and Tactile

Vincent Van Duysen

Pure materials and a clean, timeless design are the distinguishing marks of Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen. This search for the essential is well reflected in his C Penthouse project. Located in the south of Antwerp, this luxurious urban loft exudes a magnificent austere elegance.

With a chromatic palette dominated by brown and grey colors, the house unfolds around the axes of its volumes, and it’s designed to maximize views of the river. Concrete, raw wood, and metal are used in a carefully balanced alternation and are a wink to the dock’s historic warehouses. The essence of the project lies in this continuous dialogue with the context.

The sculptural treatment of the architecture can also be found in the furnishings and accessories and serves as the perfect setting for the homeowner’s expressionist art collection.

This house is an outstanding expression of refined minimalism that makes the essentials of form and color the real luxury.
